Finally new signings arrive - better late than never
Arsenal fans all over the world have suffered since the embarrassment at Old Trafford and were right to be nervous that 'Le Prof' would use the same old mantra of developing kids for the future and 'how he's working..so hard...but clubs refused to sell'. Admittedly I have been close to smashing my telly at every point I heard those words and I bet every Arsenal fan has been close enough to doing something weird and self destroying in recent weeks. Arsenal fans have gone through this roller coaster ride with the club for years but the water hit the camels back on Sunday after the 8-2 drubbing my a youthful Manchester United side.
Cue Arsene Wenger and Arsenal, distraught from the defeat and the fans backlash went into overdrive and have signed quality experienced players (five players to be exact) between Sunday and Wednesday.
For those in bed already, you'll wake up tomorrow morning thinking it was April fools day and Arsenal coulnd have pulled a wool over your eyes. Open your eyes, ,,,we signed 5 players...and none of them are below 25.
While none of these players are the marquee signing such as Hazard, M'vila all the fans have been awaiting, we can be confident that the experience we have just signed will go a long way in supporting Arsene's youth project but also spark competition for places which can only be a good thing.
For Arsenal fans, the biggest name signing of the window is none other than Mikel Arteta for a sum believed to be in the region of £10 million (An absolute steal from Everton FC). This signing could go a long way to soothe the pain suffered by Arsenal fans throughout the summer
Other confirmed signings include:
Yossi Benayoun - One year Loan deal from Chelsea (no shirt # confirmed as yet)
#4 Per Metasaker - Reportedly Five year deal from Werder Bremen
#11 Andre Santos - Four year deal from Fenerbache
#9 Park Chu Young - 2 1/2 year deal from Monaco
